AMERICAN CONFERENCE 11 vs. National Conference 5 ECHL All-Star Game Condors LW Mark Derlago (right) opened the scoring in the annual ECHL All-Star Game, but it wasn't enough to jump-start the National Conference in an 11-5 loss to the American Conference. The Condors were also represented by rookie F Matt Pope, who was named to the starting lineup. It was later announced that the 2010 All-Star Game will be held in Ontario, Calif. next season.
Friday, Jan. 23 Alaska 5 vs. CONDORS 2 Attn: 5,857 The Aces and Condors exchanged first period tallies, with RW Mike Wirll (left) making it 1-1 after the first period. But visiting Alaska notched four of the next five goals in the game to take the win. C Dave Bonk also scored for the Condors, while G J.P. Lamoureux stymied Bakersfield with 34 saves.
Saturday, Jan. 24 Ontario 3 vs. CONDORS 2 (SO) Attn: 6,226 After falling behind 1-0 in the first frame, goals by C Dave Bonk and F Matt Pope pushed the Condors out in front 2-1 in the early stages of the third period. But a power play tally by Ontario LW Todd Jackson tied the game up and forced overtime. G Dave McKee (right) was solid for Bakersfield, making 28 saves through regulation and surrendered just two goals in a seven-round shootout, but the Reign took the win. Bonk also scored in the shootout for Bakersfield.
Sunday, Jan. 25 ONTARIO 4 vs. Condors 3 Trailing 3-0 through 40 minutes of play, Bakersfield rallied in the third period but came up just short. C Dave Bonk (left) scored twice for the Condors in the final frame before Reign C Tim Kraus lit the lamp with just over three minutes left to put Ontario ahead by two. The Reign needed that goal, as LW Mark Derlago again pulled Bakersfield within one with a late power play tally, but the equalizer eluded the Condors in their 16th one-goal loss of the season.
