O'Donnell Loaned to AHL's Texas Stars; Altshuller Returns

ESTERO, FL - Florida Everblades President and General Manager Craig Brush along with Head Coach Brad Ralph announced Thursday that forward Brendan O'Donnell (pictured above) has been loaned to the Texas Stars of the American Hockey League (AHL). O'Donnell has signed a professional tryout agreement (PTO) with Texas. In addition, goaltender Daniel Altshuller has been reassigned to the Everblades from the Charlotte Checkers (AHL).

O'Donnell, 24, earns his first AHL call up after leading the Everblades with 55 points and 29 goals this season. O'Donnell is currently riding a 14-game point streak in the ECHL. O'Donnell posted an impressive 37-point (17g, 20a) rookie campaign in 2015-16. He ended last season on a high note, tying an Everblades team record by a scoring a goal in nine consecutive games. Prior to joining the Everblades, the 6-0, 193-pound forward totaled a balanced 55 points (27g, 28a) during his four-year collegiate career at the University of North Dakota from 2011-2015. The Winnipeg, Manitoba native was selected by the Tampa Bay Lightning in the sixth-round of the 2010 NHL Entry Draft.

Altshuller, 22, returns to Florida where he has logged a 6-0-0-1 record, a 1.96 goals-against-average and a 0.924 save percentage this season. The 6-4, 201-pound netminder holds a 3-3-0 record, with a 3.03 goals-against-average and a 0.903 save percentage with AHL Charlotte this season. Altshuller has also been recalled by the NHL's Carolina Hurricanes twice this season, but did not play. Altshuller has totaled a 24-7-2 record with the Everblades during the past three seasons. The Nepean, Ontario native is a third-round draft selection of the Hurricanes in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft.

The Everblades are back in action at Germain this Friday and Saturday against the Atlanta Gladiators for Pink in the Rink Weekend present by Radiology Regional (promotional details listed below).

Saturday, February, 11 vs. Atlanta, 7:00 p.m. - Pink in the Rink night, present by Radiology Regional Center. The team will wear special pink jerseys which will be auctioned off following the game. First 1,000 fans will receive a free chpi clip courtesy of Radiology Regional, and the first 3,000 fans will receive an Everblades flash light courtesy of Gerber Collison & Glass.
