Modesto, CA. - An early offensive spark was not enough in the Modesto Nuts' 6-4 loss against the Visalia Rawhide on Sunday night at John Thurman Field.

Forrest Wall doubled in the first in front of Josh Fuentes' RBI triple. Shane Hoelscher followed and lifted a deep sac fly into center to put up a second, first-inning run. Drew Weeks helped the Nuts (25-32; 51-76) add on when he laced a triple in the second. Collin Ferguson drove him in with a RBI groundout.

Joel Payamps (W, 7-3) settled in from there in his start for the Rawhide (28-29; 74-53). The righty retired the next eleven in a row as he threw seven innings allowing four runs on six hits with five strikeouts.
