Stockton, CA. - The Nuts rallied late but fell 5-3 to the Stockton Ports on Saturday night at Banner Island Ballpark.
With the tying run at the plate, both Drew Weeks and Rosell Herrera lined out to record the final two outs of the game. Corey Walter (S, 8/10) worked around a leadoff walk to close out the Ports' (72-57; 34-34) victory.
Wilson Soriano recorded a RBI single in the seventh followed by a Ramiel Tapia sac fly to put the Nuts on the board. In the eighth, Correlle Prime added a RBI fielder's choice.
Casey Meisner (W, 3-1) tossed five shutout innings allowing four hits and striking out four.
Antonio Senzatela (L, 9-9) tossed five frames and allowed four runs on six hits with four K's.
