MISSOULA, Mont. -- The Northwest League of Professional Baseball Clubs today unveiled a new logo for the eight-team Short Season Class-A league.

The Northwest League features teams in Idaho, Oregon, Washington and British Columbia, Canada and has led all Short-Season leagues in Minor League Baseball in overall attendance for the past four seasons.

"Since 1955, the Northwest League has been showcasing some of the best young talent in baseball and has served as a staple for family-friendly entertainment in the region," said Northwest League President Mike Ellis. "This new logo was necessary to give proper branding to the Northwest League as the baseball industry evolves into the modern age."

The new logo was created by renowned sports logo designer Todd Radom, and replaces a previous horizontal version design. It includes a vivid palette that is emblematic of the Northwest region by featuring geographic elements such as mountains, trees and water. The colors were chosen to appear bold and contemporary with clean lines and progressive aesthetics.

"All teams in the Northwest League agreed an update of our league logo was needed and they are all thrilled with the outcome," said Spokane Indians Senior Vice President and Northwest League Logo Committee Chairman, Otto Klein. "We feel like it better represents the geographical area in which our teams play, and we are proud to show it off to the rest of the world."

"The change to a new logo included input from all league members to ensure a smooth transition," added Ellis. "We're very proud of this new look for our league and I am looking forward to seeing it around the league in 2017."
