Rancho Cucamonga Quakes News Release

Rancho Cucamonga, CA-- The Rancho Cucamonga Quakes snapped a two-game losing streak by beating the Visalia Rawhide, 6-1, on Saturday night at LoanMart Field.

Dodgers major league rehabber, Bud Norris, started for the Quakes and earned the win after allowing just one run in 5 2/3 innings. He impressed in front of 4,106 Quakes fans, a near-sellout at LoanMart field. All major league rehabbers are presented by San Manuel Indian Bingo and Casino.

After the Rawhide took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first off of Norris, Rancho grabbed the lead and never looked back.

The Quakes scored three runs in the first inning, after Johan Mieses leaned into his Cal League-leading 26th home run of the season, a three run shot, to give Rancho a 3-1 lead. Mieses has eight home runs in his last ten games and has homered in four straight.

Rancho Cucamonga added to their lead in the fourth. With two out, Devan Ahart and Brandon Trinkwon hit back-to-back doubles to score a run, and Mike Ahmed hit an RBI single cap the scoring in the inning and give the Quakes a 5-1 lead.

Trinkwon drove home the final run of the night with a sacrifice fly in the fifth inning, to give Rancho a 6-1 advantage to round out the scoring in the game two win.

Norris (1-0) went 5.2 innings, and allowed just one earned run on four hits. He walked one and struck out four. David Reid-Foley came on to get the final out in the sixth, and Adam Bray followed with three scoreless innings to earn his second save of the season.

Brad Keller (8-7) took the loss for Visalia. He allowed five earned runs on seven hits in four innings. Matt Pobereyko allowed the final run to the Quakes in the sixth inning.

The Quakes (24-25, 66-52) continue their six-game home stand with game the series finale and the rubber match against the Visalia Rawhide on Sunday. Rancho's starting pitcher for the game three matchup is LHP and Dodgers major league rehabber, Adam Liberatore (2-0, 1.62 ERA with Dodgers), who is working his way back from elbow soreness.
