Norris K's Seven in Rehab Win

The SeaWolves snapped a four-game losing streak with a 5-3 win over the Reading Fightin Phils on Thursday night at Jerry Uht Park.

The SeaWolves took the lead in the bottom of the fourth inning against Fightins starter Nick Pivetta . Corey Jones walked with two outs to keep the inning alive for Dominic Ficociello . Ficociello connected on an opposite field home run, his fifth, giving the SeaWolves a 2-0 lead.

Reading tied the game against Erie starter Daniel Norris in the top of the sixth. Andrew Pullin walked with one out bringing the tying run to the plate in Rhys Hoskins. Hoskins connected on his league-leading 30th home run, tying the game at 2-2.

Erie quickly regained the lead in the last of the sixth. Anthony Gose led off with a walk and Jason Krizan singled putting runners on the corners. Reading summoned reliever Joely Rodriguez who induced a line out off the bat of Corey Jones. Ficociello followed with a double, scoring Gose for a 3-2 Erie lead. Mike Gerber then doubled home Gose and Ficocielli for a 5-2 advantage.

Norris went back out for the seventh inning and quickly retired the first two batters of the inning before giving up a solo home run to Osmel Aguila to make it 5-3. Norris exited after the home run. He threw pitches on his rehab assignment, 56 of those strikes.

Angel Nesbitt was solid in relief of Norris. He tossed 1.1 scoreless innings with a four strikeouts.

Joe Jimenez earned his 12th save tossing a 1-2-3 ninth.

Norris (1-0) earned the win allowing three runs on five hits with three walks and seven strikeouts in 6.2 innings.

The SeaWolves continue the four-game series with Reading on Friday night at 7:05 p.m. RHP Tommy Collier (7-6, 3.11 ERA) takes the mound for the SeaWolves against LHP Anthony Vasquez (8-3, 3.56 ERA).

Friday, the first 1,000 fans get a SeaWolves Retro Bobblehead courtesy of Rebich Investments. It's also Happy Hour in the Bud Light Beer Garden featuring drink specials until first pitch.
