November 28, 2016 - National Lacrosse League (NLL)
Toronto Rock News Release

PHILADELPHIA - The National Lacrosse League (NLL), the largest men's professional indoor lacrosse league in North America, today announced that it has partnered with Sportsrocket, a leading provider of custom media solutions to the sports industry, to continue its commitment to elevating the fan experience through digital programming. The League will now be able to more actively engage fans from around the globe through Sportsrocket and its sports media operating system, which enables streaming, video-on-demand, social highlights and video sharing. With this partnership, fans will be able to live-stream all NLL regular season and playoff games for the first time on NLLTV.com and native device apps, plus receive more highlights and shows than ever before.

"We're excited to be working closely with the National Lacrosse League to help make their vision a reality," said Brian Bedol, Founder and CEO at Sportsrocket, Inc. "We're living in what is, no doubt, the most dynamic media environment in history, and, more than ever before, a league's ability to engage its fans on every platform and device will be central to growing its fan base. I'm thrilled that NLL chose the Sportsrocket solution."

The new OTT video platform will feature both paid and free content for fans. Paid subscriptions, which will go on sale November 29, 2016, include access to live, full-length, regular season games under three tiered options: a full-season pass for $34.95, single-team pass for $24.95, or single-game purchases for $4.95 each. This content will be available exclusively to paid subscribers during the live window of the game and for the first 24 hours thereafter. Special rates are also available for season ticket holders-- $27.96 for full-season passes and $19.96 for single-team passes. All users, for free, will be able to view ad-supported content including: full-length games on-demand after 24 hours, highlights, short-form features and archive games and programs.

"In partnering with Sportsrocket, we're investing in the future of sports entertainment," said Nick Sakiewicz, Commissioner of the National Lacrosse League. "The last decade has seen a strong, transformative shift in the way fans are tuning in to watch games, highlights, sports analysis and other video on-demand content. By providing a digital platform that dedicates itself so strongly to the consumer experience, we'll be able to provide our fans with the most action-packed, accessible and engaging content of the box lacrosse world."

The Sportsrocket agreement is among several significant changes within the League, which started in early 2016 with the appointment of new League Commissioner. Subsequently at the corporate level, the League also initiated a major relocation of its corporate headquarters to the Philadelphia area, hired several core executives, and engaged third-party organizations to help ramp up branding efforts and enhance how the league communicates with its fans.
