Ninth Inning Rally Falls Short as Isotopes Fall 2-1

April 30, 2017 - Pacific Coast League (PCL1)
Albuquerque Isotopes News Release

The Isotopes could not solve the Las Vegas pitching staff, falling to the 51s, 2-1, on Sunday afternoon from Casham Field. Albuquerque was able to put the tying run on third base in the ninth, but the rally was not meant to be.

The Isotopes were limited to just four hits on the afternoon, the club's second-lowest output of the season. Raimel Tapia led the way with two of the four hits. Albuquerque's only run came in the top of the ninth as a result of a Las Vegas fielding error.

Isotopes starter Zach Jemiola pitched well despite taking the loss. The 23-year-old righty allowed just two runs on four hits over 5.1 innings of work.

Albuquerque and Las Vegas are back in action tomorrow evening from Cashman Field when Harrison Musgrave (0-1, 5.60) will toe the rubber for Glenallen Hill's squad. He will be opposed by 51s righty Wilfredo Boscan (0-1, 2.50 ). First pitch from Las Vegas is set for 8:05 p.m.
