AKRON, OH - Former first baseman Nicole Trimboli is the 11th Akron Racers IMPACT honoree after registering a stellar eight-year career as a pro player. Trimboli, the former Nebraska Cornhusker, arrived in Akron in 2004 after being acquired in the 2004 Supplemental Draft.

"We were lucky to be in a position to grab Boli in the Supplemental Draft," noted GM Joey Arrietta. "When you assemble the All-NPF selections since 2004, Nicole Trimboli, in my opinion, is hands down a member of that elite squad."

In her rookie season, Trimboli helped lead the Racers to a 39-21 record and was named to the All-NPF East All-Star Team. In that season, Trimboli was second on the Racers with 50 hits and a .266 batting average. Trimboli drove in 25 RBI and scored 13 runs, while stealing five bases.

In 2005, Trimboli paced the Racers to a second-place regular season finish. Trimboli played a critical role in the championship run, scoring the only run of the game in Akron's 1-0 semifinal victory over the Texas Thunder. In the bottom of the second inning, Trimboli smashed a one-out double to centerfield. Two batters later Trimboli scored on an error by Texas first baseman Karrie Rider off a batted ball by Kelly Kretschman. The Championship Series concluded with the Racers historic win over the first place Chicago Bandits in a 5-4 eight-inning thriller to claim their first Cowles Cup title in 2005.

For the second consecutive season, Trimboli was named to the All-NPF East All-Star team in 2005. Trimboli accounted for 24 runs and 23 RBI that season, while amassing 44 hits, 11 doubles and a .331 batting average.

After spending the next three years with the Chicago Bandits and one year with the USSSA Florida Pride, Trimboli returned to Firestone Stadium in 2011 and spent the final two years of her career in Akron.

In her second stint with the Racers, Trimboli offered veteran leadership and a high level of on-field production as a part of a core of key veterans. Trimboli led the Racers with 32 hits and five doubles in 2011.

Trimboli retired from the Akron Racers after the 2012 season with a profound place in Racers history. Over four years with the team, Trimboli is fourth in both hits (149) and doubles (23). In her four-year career with the Racers, Trimboli had a career average of .279, three triples, six home runs, 54 runs and 71 RBI.

Trimboli and the other 29 IMPACT honorees will be recognized this summer, culminating in a weekend-long celebration July 15-17 when the Racers welcome the Dallas Charge to Firestone Stadium for a three-game series. The Racers will welcome back many of their former players to celebrate the history of the franchise, culminating in the pre-game presentation of the 30 IMPACT honorees on July 16th. Each honoree will receive a special commemorative jersey bearing their name and number.
