NEW YORK LIBERTY (3-6) vs. ATLANTA DREAM (6-5)

Tuesday, June 19 - White Plains, NY (Westchester County Center) - 7:00 PM (ET)

TV: League Pass, MSG+

The New York Liberty got into an early hole against the Minnesota Lynx on Saturday, and they could not climb out, falling 85-71 on the road. With four losses in their last five games, they will look to end the skid at home against the Atlanta Dream.

QUICK HITS

Tina Charles' 20.8 points per game rank third in the league (as of 6/18).

Charles' 6.9 rebounds per game are good for 12th in the league (as of 6/18).

Kia Nurse's ranks fourth among rookies with 12.3 points per game (as of 6/18).

Nurse is shooting 90.9% from the charity stripe, the seventh best mark in the WNBA (as of 6/14).

Bria Hartley is tenth in the league with 4.2 assists per game (as of 6/18).

The Liberty and the Dream have identical point differentials for the season (-3.7 per game).

KEY MATCHUP

Since entering the WNBA a year apart from each other, Tina Charles and Angel McCoughtry have been two of the most consistent superstars in the league. For her career, Charles has averaged 18.2 points and 9.9 rebounds per game, while McCoughtry checks in with 19.4 points and 5.0 rebounds a contest.

LAST MEETING

On August 11, 2018, Shavonte Zellous led all scorers with 20 points as the Liberty held on to beat the Dream in Atlanta, 83-77.

New York led by double figures for much of the game, but Atlanta cut the lead to one with under a minute to play. Epiphanny Prince scored four points in the final 30 seconds to seal the Liberty victory.

Tina Charles added 15 points and eight rebounds for New York. Brittany Sykes led Atlanta with 16.

SPREAD OUT ATTACK

Saturday's contest at Minnesota saw 11 Liberty players enter the scoring column, the second game in a row that many players have found the bottom of the net. The bench chipped in 40 of New York's 71 points.

ROOKIE X-FACTOR

A trend in Liberty victories this season has been superb play by rookie Kia Nurse. When New York has come out on top, the guard has scored 18.3 points per game. In defeats, she has averaged 9.3 a game.

POINTS IN THE PAINT

The Liberty pace the WNBA with 23.7 three-point attempts a game, so they are susceptible to losing the battle on the inside. The Lynx held a 20-point advantage in points in the paint on Saturday, the largest disparity the Liberty have seen this season.

MISSING THE CHARITY STRIPE

The Liberty shot just seven free throws against Minnesota on Saturday, and they now sit 0-3 on the season when they have seven or less attempts from the line. They rank top five in the league in free throw percentage with an 80 percent clip, but their 15.6 chances per game rank last.
