New York Liberty to Host Connecticut Sun in WNBA Preseason Game at Columbia University

NEW YORK, NY -The New York Liberty announced today it will host the Connecticut Sun in a 2017 WNBA preseason game at Columbia University's Levien Gymnasium on Sunday, May 7, at 3 p.m.

Tickets to the preseason contest will be available exclusively for Liberty Loyal season ticket members. This marks the second-straight season New York will hold a preseason event for its most dedicated fans at Columbia University, providing a unique atmosphere to experience the 2017 team before the new season officially tips off.

"A major focus of our organization is providing fans with memories and experiences that will last a lifetime," said Team President Isiah Thomas. "Columbia University has been an outstanding partner, and we are excited to return for the 2017 preseason where our season ticket members will once again enjoy exceptional access to our team and players as excitement builds for the 2017 season."

Liberty Loyal season ticket members in attendance will also be able to participate in a postgame autograph session featuring Liberty players, and enjoy complimentary food and beverage. Select fans will have an opportunity to compete in a fantasy basketball game on the court during halftime. Transportation from Madison Square Garden to Columbia University will be provided.

The Liberty will play two other preseason contests as it prepares for the 2017 WNBA season, both coming during a preseason event at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn., from May 2-3. New York will face the defending champion Los Angeles Sparks on May 2 at 5 p.m., and the Chicago Sky on May 3 at 5 p.m.
