New Scoreboard Update - Top 10 New England Prospects for MLB Draft

New Scoreboard Update

We showed up last Monday morning to a very nice sight, the new scoreboard had arrived!

Throughout the week, the old scoreboard came down, piece by piece. Due to the weather, it wasn't completely down until Thursday. Now that it is completely down, the company is scraping the existing support poles and then they will paint them to freshen them up.

We expect to see the new board up by the end of this week! Stay tuned to our Twitter for the most up to date news on the progress!

The 2017 MLB Draft is Approaching

The 2017 Major League Baseball draft is just over a month away. With the FCBL growing in popularity and play level, more and more players are getting drafted each June.

This years draft will take place from June 12th to the 14th. According to New England Baseball Journal, three of the top 10 New England prospects are former Silver Knights. Max Burt (Northeastern) is #8, Mickey Gasper (Bryant) is #9 and Nick Angelini (Bryant) rounds it out at #10.

Eight of the top 10 prospects on this list have played in the FCBL.

Erik Ostberg (Hartford) is also projected to get drafted after leading NCAA Division 1 in batting average, but fell off the list due to a recent minor knee injury that has kept him sidelined for the rest of the season.

Gasper Picks up Another Player of Week Award

Mickey Gasper, the reigning FCBL MVP,

continues to keep opposing pitchers up at night by putting up stellar numbers from both sides of the plate. Gasper, a Merrimack, NH native, was selected as the Northeast Conference Player of the Week after putting up 10 RBI and 2 homeruns in 5 games last week!

The New Mug Club

The 2017 Mug Club has undergone a significant change since 2016. The 2017 mug is $35 and is a 14 ounce plastic mug. By purchasing a mug, you get 1/2 priced domestic and premium drafts Friday through Wednesday and $1 domestic drafts and $2 premium drafts on Thirsty Thursday, all season long! The purchase of a mug comes with a complimentary beer! If you are looking to save money on ice cold beer during the warm summer months, our Mug Club is the way to go! We aren't math majors over here at Holman Stadium, but even we can tell that your investment would be worthwhile in just a couple weeks! We are limiting the quantity to just 200 mugs, so act quick! All mugs are to be picked up at Holman Stadium.
