Nearing Record Attendance, RiverDogs Host Final Homestand Before Playoffs

CHARLESTON, SC -Approaching record attendance in the 20th season at Joseph P. Riley, Jr. Park, the playoff-bound Charleston RiverDogs return home for a three-game homestand as they pay tribute to the fans, and announce the "Top Dog" of the 2016 season in an explosive finale to wrap up the regular season.
Returning from a brief three-game road trip, the RiverDogs host the Hagerstown Suns, the Class A affiliate of the Washington Nationals, from August 30-September 1 in a potential SAL Championship Series preview. With three games left on the docket, the RiverDogs have welcomed 282,582 fans through the turnstiles at The Joe this year, 10,079 shy of the franchise record for attendance set last season.
*Tuesday, August 30, 7:05pm: "Take Me Out" Tuesday / Citadel Night: *"Take Me Out Tuesday" returns on Citadel Night at The Joe. The RiverDogs' neighbors will bring the famed Summerall Guards for pregame festivities and "Spike" the Bulldog will be in attendance along with a push-up contest. The "Take Me Out Tuesday" features a two-for-$20 meal and ticket deal at the gate courtesy of Miller Lite.
*Wednesday, August 31, 7:05pm: Service Industry Night / Service Industry Bartender Battle! / Seniors Eat Free: *Join the RiverDogs for the Greater Charleston Restaurant Association Service Industry Night as we help recognize individuals in the local service industry. Service industry employees, who show proof of employment with a pay stub, receive 30 percent off of their game ticket and food. There will be numerous in-game contests that spotlight the service industry members, which features this week's Bartender Battle. It'll also be Senior Wednesday as seniors who enter the park before 7pm receive a free hot dog, chips and a drink, and will be allowed to run the bases after the game. Sorry kids, it's an adult-only run.
*Thursday, September 1, 6:35pm: Fan Appreciation Day / Thirsty Thursday/ Season Finale Fireworks: *Join the RiverDogs as they pay tribute to the fans on the final Budweiser Thirsty Thursday of the season featuring DJ Natty Heavy and $1 beers at the Ashley View Pub presented by 95SX. Throughout the game there will be tributes to our fans as well as raffles for prizes, including jerseys. The RiverDogs will also unveil the "Top Dog" of the 2016 season as they raise the banner of the fan-voted player of the year. As the final out of the regular season is recorded, don't miss out on the postgame fireworks as Charleston wraps up the historic year with a bang.
