THURSDAY NIGHT HIGHLIGHTS...top performers from Thursday's D-League games
v Kasib Powell poured in 49 points for the Skyforce as Sioux Falls downed Fort Wayne. He added five rebounds and four assists on the night while Chris Alexander finished with 15 points and 14 rebounds in the win.
v Fort Wayne's Earl Calloway led the way for Fort Wayne with 27 points and 11 assists, as Roderick finished with 23 points and six rebounds and Cheikh Samb, on assignment from the Detroit Pistons, finished with 14 points and 12 rebounds.
ALUMNI ACHIEVEMENTS...a look at D-League Alumni in last night's NBA games
15 players with D-League experience competed in 3 NBA games last night, three as starters. Here are the highlights:
v Rafer Alston scored 24 points, collecting five rebounds and four assists, in 36 minutes for the Houston Rockets last night. Alston was joined by four teammates (Chuck Hayes, Steve Novak, Bobby Jones, and Aaron Brooks) with D-League experience who saw action last night.
v Juan Jose Barea finished with six points in six minutes of action for the Dallas Mavericks.
v Devin Brown netted 15 points in 25 minutes as one of six former D-Leaguers (Billy Thomas, Kaniel Dickens, Cedric Simmons, and Shannon Brown) who participated in last night's game for the Cleveland Cavaliers.
THIS WEEK IN THE D-LEAGUE: The upcoming episode of This Week in the D-League, airing live from 8-9pm ET, welcomes D-League President Dan Reed to the studio, and includes features on Andre Barrett's GATORADE Call-Up to the Los Angeles Clippers, Albuquerque Thunderbird Dwight Brewington and the D-League influence on the Charlotte Bobcats coaching staff. Additionally, host Rick Kamla will shed light on the top ten D-League alumni for the month of February.
