National Pro Fastpitch Names Players of the Week

Nashville, TN - The National Pro Fastpitch League (NPF) announced the top players for week four of the NPF season on Monday.
Two rookies grab awards this week for their performances, including Sam Fischer of the Akron Racers. Fischer was named Player of the Week for week four of the season after hitting for a .333 AVG while belting four home runs. Fischer picked up a league-best eight RBI in week four.
The Rookie of the Week for week four is the 2nd overall pick of the 2016 NPF Draft, Sierra Romero. Romero has helped the USSSA Pride start their regular season campaign 12-3 and hit for a league-best .471 AVG in week four. Romero smashed one home run and tallied five RBI while also picking up two doubles.
The week four Pitcher of the Week is the first repeat winner of the season, Monica Abbott. Abbott went 2-0 in her two starts and didn't allow a run in 12.2 innings pitched. The Scrap Yard Dawgs ace struck out 11 batters and held opposing hitters to a .191 AVG.
The National Pro Fastpitch League releases player, pitcher and rookie of the week awards every Monday throughout the season.
