Nathan Panther is the Carolina League Player of the Week

Kinston, NC - Kinston's Nathan Panther is the Carolina Leaguer Player of the Week for the last week of the first half of the season. Panther hit .500 (9-18), with five runs, eight RBI, two home runs and a .889 slugging percentage. Panther also picked up a save with his first appearance of the season on the mound as Kinston literally ran out of arms in their final series of the first half. Panther's batting average is now at a season high .274. He has nine home runs and 20 RBI on the year.
Panther joins Chris Gimenez as the only Indians to nab the Player of the Week Award this season. Kinston Pitcher David Huff took Pitcher of the Week honors for the last week in April.
With a first half Southern Division Title in hand, Kinston begins the second half of the season today at Lynchburg.
