Nashville Predators to Host SPHL's Knoxville Ice Bears Preseason Game

Knoxville, TN - (October 9, 2012) The Knoxville Ice Bears are pleased to announce the organization will be hosting an SPHL exhibition game at Bridgestone Arena, home of the Nashville Predators, on Saturday, Oct. 20 at 7:00 pm CST.
The Ice Bears will host cross border rivals, the Huntsville Havoc, in the second part of a home at home series. The two teams will kickoff the series in Huntsville at the Von Braun Center on Friday, Oct. 19 at 7:30 p.m. CST.
The event will be free to all current Knoxville Ice Bears season tickets holders and tickets can be reserved by calling the Knoxville Ice Bears front office at 865-525-7825.
Additional tickets can be purchase for $10.25 at the Bridgestone Arena box office. Proceeds from the gate - and other fundraisers throughout the arena - will go to Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt as part of the Nashville Predators' We Care for Kids program in conjunction with the National Hockey League's Hockey Fights Cancer initiative.
"This is an amazing opportunity for our players and an exceptional benefit to our season ticket holders. It is a great to showcase the high caliber of players the Knoxville Ice Bears and the SPHL have to offer to the diehard hockey fans of Nashville. While the NHL is planning for the future, we are thrilled to provide Predators fans the chance to enjoy live professional hockey in the meantime," said President and General Manager Mike Murray.
As part of the active relationship with the Nashville Predators, the Knoxville Ice Bears will be hosting a Nashville Predators Night on Saturday, Nov. 17, at the Knoxville Civic Coliseum. The Ice Bears will be wearing Predators themed jerseys and members of the Nashville Predators organization will be in attendance.
"Bringing an Ice Bears game to Bridgestone Arena is another way to give back to our season ticketholders and engage our partners," Predators Executive Vice President of Sales Chris Parker said. "Their rivalry with Huntsville is the perfect centerpiece for a great Saturday full of hockey in Nashville."
The 2012-2013 season will kickoff against the Fayetteville FireAntz on Friday, October 26 at 7:30 pm. The first home game will be Friday, Nov. 2 at 7:30 p.m. at the Knoxville Civic Coliseum.
