October 9, 2012 - Professional Arena Soccer League (PASL) - Chicago Mustangs
The Chicago Mustangs, an expansion team in the Professional Arena Soccer League (PASL) announced their first player signing as they opened training camp this week.
The Mustangs signed Jay Lee Harris to a contract, a well-established player who could be an important building block as the team assembles its roster.
Harris, though just 29, is a worldly veteran. The London native has played professional soccer in England, Hungary, Sweden, Norway, and Thailand. "I am excited to play for this club, I can feel that there is a lot of passion for the game in this town" said Harris when asked about his new venture. He continued, "I can't wait to take the field and show Chicago what I am made of."
"He is an outstanding athlete that is going to be a veteran leader for the club," said Mustangs General Manager Nasser Rafidia.
It has been a busy couple of weeks for the new team in town. Last Friday they publicly released the club's logo on Facebook and are working on the final stages in developing the team's website, chicagomustangspro.com.
The team continues to work diligently, which will be evident when they take the field in their first game at the Grand Sports Arena in Hoffman Estates, IL, on November 10. Fans will be able to buy tickets when they go on sale October 15. Pre-sale general admission tickets will go on sale for only $7.00 and be sold at the arena, as well as on the teams website.
Also, fans and media are encouraged to attend next Monday's (10/15) training session at 5:00 PM (CDT) at Grand Sports Arena in Hoffman Estates.
The Mustangs are part of the PASL's Central Division along with the Rockford Rampage, Dallas Sidekicks, Texas Strikers, and Rio Grande Valley Flash. The PASL has expanded to a 19-team circuit as it heads into its fifth season.
