Billings Mustangs News Release

BILLINGS, Montana - The Billings Mustangs (13-8) used their biggest offensive game of the season to top the Great Falls Voyagers (8-13) 19-2 on Sunday in front of 888 at Centene Stadium.

The scoring started immediately as the Mustangs popped five runs on the board in the top of the first. Jeter Downs started the game with a single and scored on a Stuart Fairchild liner to center. Leandro Santana highlighted the inning with a two-RBI triple. Downs is now on a team-high eight-game hitting streak while Alejo Lopez is just one game back at seven. Santana finished the game a double shy of the cycle, going 3-for-6 with a season-high seven RBI.

Leading 5-1 going to the fifth, Santana added a grand slam to his impressive day to make it an eight-run lead. The homerun now gives the Mustangs a streak of 13 consecutive games with a round-tripper. The Mustangs offense would not slow down, scoring 14 runs over a four inning period. The 19 runs, 22 hits, and 18 RBI would all be new season-highs. Andy Sugilio posted his first four-hit game of the year along with three RBI and two runs.

Mac Sceroler made his second professional start for Billings. He would toss four innings, giving up one run and striking out three. He would not receive a decision.

The Mustangs maintain a two-game lead in the Pioneer League North Division over the Missoula Osprey (11-10). They will face off in a rubber match to decide their three-game series against the Great Falls Voyagers on Monday at Centene Stadium. First pitch is set for 7:00 p.m.
