Musketeers Outflank Storm, 4-1

Sioux City, Ia. - The Tri-City Storm allowed two goals in the third period and the Sioux City Musketeers wrapped up their third Anderson Cup with a 4-1 win Sunday at the Tyson Event Center. The Storm's Logan Drevitch scored his 12th of the season at 1:15 of the third to cut the deficit to one. Eeli Tolvanen added insurance with five minutes left in the third to restore the Musketeer's two goal edge.

Eric Dop denied 16 shots in the second and finished with a career-best 40 saves. Matiss Kivlenieks beat the Storm for the fourth time this season with 12 blocks.

The 18-year-old Dop faced at least 30 shots for the 16th time this season (five wins).

The Storm finished the seven-game season series with a 2-5-0-0 record against Sioux City. Tri-City bested the Musketeers on Championship Night when the Storm raised its Clark Cup Championship banner on September in Kearney.

In the first period, Dop stopped 11 shots and helped the Storm kill off a power play. Tri-City ripped five tries on Kivlenieks and reached his cage twice in the second.

The Musketeers blazed the first 16 shots of the middle frame and scored the opening goal at 2:57 of the second. Phil Knies jammed his 20th of the season on a rebound at the slot. Jacob Wilson and Matt Hellickson garnered assists. With 7:53 left in the frame, Sioux City's Micah Miller extended the edge to 2-0.

Dop faced 18 shots in the second period, tied for the most he's faced in a frame.

Drevitch responded with his third goal in the last five games to yank the Storm within one. Blais Richartz threw it out of the left to Drevitch at the slot. Drevitch has five points in his last five games.

Tolvanen's power-play marker came on a shot through traffic that Dop could not see with 5:13 left. Brian Rigali poured in another goal for the Musketeers with two minutes left.

The Storm was 0-for-3 on the man advantage and killed off Sioux City's only power play.

Storm's last two games are on the road in Iowa, venturing to Cedar Rapids next Friday at 7:05 and Des Moines on Saturday at 7:05 p.m.
