Lancaster JetHawks News Release

STOCKTON, Calif. - Brian Mundell accounted for both JetHawks runs to lead the club to a 2-1 win over the Stockton Ports on Wednesday night at Banner Island Ballpark.

The win snapped a season-long four-game losing streak for Lancaster (8-12).

Mundell hit a solo home run in the fourth inning to put the JetHawks on the board and later scored the go ahead run in the ninth inning. He led off the final frame with a double and was bunted to third by Sam Hilliard. With two outs, Mundell scampered home on a Iolana Akau passed ball. Roberto Ramos struck out on the next pitch from Nolan Blackwood (0-1).

Huascar Brazoban walked the first two batters in the bottom of the ninth and intentionally walked another after a sacrifice bunt. With the bases loaded and one out he struck out Chris Iriart before inducing a game-ending fly ball off the bat of pinch-hitter Trent Gilbert. Brazoban picked up his second save.

Salvador Justo (1-2) pitched two scoreless innings of relief for the win.

Craig Schlitter allowed just one run for his fourth consecutive start. The right-hander went six innings and allowed only three hits. He struck out four and walked three.

Schlitter's biggest test came in the fourth inning. The Ports (11-9) loaded the bases with nobody out, but Schlitter got a strikeout and a double play to get him out of the jam.

Skye Bolt tripled off Schlitter in the sixth and scored on a Tyler Ramirez sac-fly for Stockton's only run.

The series concludes at 7:10 p.m. on Thursday at Banner Island Ballpark. Trey Killian is scheduled to pitch for the JetHawks against A.J. Puk.

The JetHawks are in their first season as a Colorado Rockies affiliate in 2017. Full season, Hawks Packs and group tickets are available now at jethawks.com, or by calling (661) 726-5400.
