Odessa Jackalopes News Release

Odessa, TX - Kieran Durgan's power play goal halfway through the third period turned out to be the decider as the Odessa Jackalopes (9-9-1-1) were edged out by the Shreveport Mudbugs (13-4-1-1) at the Hirsch Coliseum, 4-2, on Friday night. This was the first game between the two squads in Shreveport this season.

The Mudbugs got off to a quick start as Zachary Faremouth knuckled one past Brett Epp on the high glove side for the 1-0 lead only 2:40 into the game. It was the quickest goal Odessa has given up this season.

Shreveport would net one more after starting the second period on a power play. Gueorgui Feduolov planted himself on the back door and tipped a pass from Dominick Procopio past Epp for the 2-0 advantage.

Almost five minutes later, Shreveport took the lead once again, and for the final time. Kieran Durgan shot a one-timer from right in front of the net on the left side of the crease as the Mudbugs netted their eventual game-winner on the power play. Jacob Holmers added an empty netter to seal the deal with 1.3 seconds remaining in regulation.
