Mozingo Re-Signs with RedHawks

FARGO, ND - The leading hitter for the 2015 Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks is returning in 2016 as the club re-signed OF Chad Mozingo to a contract. Mozingo is the 14th player to sign with Fargo-Moorhead.

Mozingo, 27, led the RedHawks with a .307 batting average in 2015 and led the American Association with 34 doubles. In 98 games, he added three triples, four home runs, 65 RBIs and 63 runs scored. Mozingo also led the RedHawks in games played, hits (122-tied), RBIs, walks (42), on-base percentage (.375) and total bases (174).

Mozingo joined the RedHawks in 2015 after playing with the Lincoln Saltdogs in 2014. Prior to Lincoln, he spent the 2012 and 2013 seasons with the Schaumburg (IL) Boomers of the Frontier League. He began his professional career with the Washington Nationals after being selected in the 20th round of the 2010 draft out of Rice University (TX). In his six-year career, Mozingo has batted .290 with 92 doubles, 20 triples, 26 home runs, 223 RBIs and 278 runs scored in 424 games.

"Chad was a key contributor for us all season and we are happy to have him back in our lineup in 2016," said RedHawks Manager Doug Simunic. "He was our most consistent hitter all season and we look for more good things out of his this summer."
