Chicago Wolves News Release

WINNIPEG, Man. - Ondrej Pavelec stopped 43 shots as the Manitoba Moose snuffed out the Chicago Wolves 4-1 on Sunday at MTS Centre. The loss was just the Wolves' second in 12 contests.

Defenseman Petteri Lindbohm scored the lone goal for the Wolves (23-13-3-2) while goaltender Ville Husso (5-3-0) registered 16 saves.

Lindbohm scored the game's first goal, but Manitoba (15-17-3-2) rallied with four unanswered goals - including three in the second period - to take its second win in three games against the Wolves.

The Wolves controlled play throughout most of the first period and it paid dividends when they opened scoring at 16:30 of the frame. Bryce Gervais chipped the puck up the left-side boards to Lindbohm at the point. With rookie Mackenzie MacEachern screening, Lindbohm snapped a shot that found its way past Pavelec (8-7-2).

Manitoba rattled off three consecutive goals in the second period, including a power-play marker from Dan DeSalvo just 1:35 into the session, to take a 3-1 lead. Ryan Olsen (12:32) and Scott Kosmachuk (15:43) both tallied from the slot past Husso (5-3-0) in the latter half of the period.

Manitoba netted its fourth goal - the only one of the final frame - to seal the victory.

The Wolves wrap a three-game road stint on Friday (Jan. 20) against the Central Division-leading Grand Rapids Griffins at Van Andel Arena. Puck drop is slated for 6 p.m., and the game will broadcast on The U Too in the Chicago area.
