Moose sign pair to PTO's and sign Durand to ATO

The Manitoba Moose, the AHL affiliate of the Vancouver Canucks, announced they have signed forwards Mark Derlago from the Bakersfield Condors and Greg Rallo from the Idaho Steelheads to pro tryout contracts. The Moose also signed forward Chris Durand from the Saskatoon Blades to an amateur tryout contract.

Derlago, 22, has played in 62 games so far this season with Condors where he currently leads the team with 30 goals. He also has 15 assists for 45 points and 63 penalty minutes. In 271 career games with the Brandon Wheat Kings of the WHL, the Winnipeg, MB native scored 112 goals and 95 assists for 207 points and 173 penalty minutes. Derlago missed the entire 2004-05 season after suffering a neck injury in 2004. He then cameback to lead the WHL in goal scoring in 2006-07 with 46 goals and his 81 points finished 10th in the league in overall scoring.

Durand, 21, completed his junior career this season by appearing in 59 games with Saskatoon where he scored 18 goals and 25 assists for 43 points and 69 penalty minutes. In 271 career games over five seasons in the WHL with Saskatoon, Prince George, and Seattle, the Saskatoon, SK native scored 76 goals and 123 assists for 199 points and 418 penalty minutes. He was originally drafted by the Colorado Avalanche with their second round choice, 52nd overall, in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft.

Rallo, 26, has appeared in 39 games this season with the Steelheads where he's scored 17 goals and 19 assists for 36 points and 47 penalty minutes. The Gurnee, IL native is sixth in team scoring. He has also played in seven games this year in the American Hockey League with Albany and Rockford. He played in 28 games last season with the Iowa Stars where he scored three goals and two assists for five points and 25 penalty minutes. In 83 career games in the ECHL - all with Idaho - Rallo has scored 32 goals and 39 assists for 71 points and 92 penalty minutes.
