CORPUS CHRISTI - Moody's 2017 Region IV-5A championship team, which made the school's 13th state tournament appearance, will be honored by the Hooks on Tuesday, July 18.

Corpus Christi and Frisco meet that night at 7:05, after Moody players, coaches, and baseball support staff members are introduced on-field by Hooks broadcaster Sam Levitt. The ceremony begins at approximately 6:40.

Led by fifth-year head coach Joe Curiel, the Trojans finished 30-3-3 overall after falling to defending 5A champion Grapevine in the state semifinals. Moody went undefeated in District 30-5A South Zone play, then won the Little Big 12 by taking two of three from North Zone champion Calallen.

The Trojans defeated Eagle Pass Winn, Pharr Valley View, King, Kerrville Tivy, and Ray on the road to Round Rock; only Tivy extended the Trojans to a third game. On June 1-2, the Trojans and Texans played before 13,517 in their regional final series at Whataburger Field.

Moody, Texas' top-ranked 5A team for most of the season, finished third in the final txhighschoolbaseball.com poll.

A trio of seniors - third baseman/pitcher Ramsey Flores, pitcher/first baseman Marcus Cantu, and catcher Nate Medina, earned all-state mention.
