Montreal Returns Delmas to Nailers

November 4, 2011 - ECHL (ECHL)
Wheeling Nailers News Release

The Wheeling Nailers, AA Affiliate for the Pittsburgh Penguins and Montreal Canadiens, have announced two transactions. Goaltender Peter Delmas has been returned to the Nailers from the AHL's Hamilton Bulldogs. In a separate transaction, defenseman Kyle Bushee has been recalled by the AHL's St. John's IceCaps. Both moves are effective immediately.

Delmas, 21, was recalled to Hamilton earlier this week, when Nathan Lawson was forced out of the Bulldogs' lineup due to a minor injury. Peter dressed for Hamilton in their 3-2 overtime loss to the Abbotsford Heat on Tuesday, but did not appear in the game, as he was the backup to Robert Mayer. The Bedford, NS native has appeared in one game for the Nailers thus far this season, stopping 21 of the 23 shots he faced in last Friday's 3-2 overtime win over the Gwinnett Gladiators. The win was the 16th of his career in a Wheeling uniform.

Bushee, 26, becomes the first player off of this season's opening night roster to receive a recall to the AHL, joining the St. John's IceCaps, who will begin a three-game weekend tonight against the Connecticut Whale. 2011-12 is Bushee's third tour of duty with the Nailers, and his fourth full season in the ECHL. In 131 career games with Wheeling, the Otsego, MI native has recorded 13 goals, 34 assists, 47 points, and 102 penalty minutes. Through five games this season, he has one assist and two penalty minutes, while being tied for the team lead with a plus-6 rating. Kyle appeared in four games at the AHL level last season, suiting up twice for the Portland Pirates, and twice for the Manitoba Moose.

The Nailers return to the ice on Friday night, when they conclude their four-game homestand with a 7:35 tilt against the Kalamazoo Wings. For ticket information call 304-234-GOAL or online at shop.wheelingnailers.com.
