Monsters To Host Free Preseason Game In Strongsville

Before the Lake Erie Monsters open their 2009-10 season in Rochester against the Americans on October 3rd, they will have a dress rehearsal when the two teams meet in a preseason game in Strongsville on Saturday, September 26th. The game at Hoover Arena, operated by IceLand USA, begins at 7:00 p.m. and will be free and open to the public.
Hoover Arena is the official practice facility of the Monsters and is located at 15381 Royalton Road in Strongsville. The preseason game culminates a shortened training camp for the Monsters, which opens Thursday, September 24th.
For the first time in franchise history the Monsters will begin their regular season on the road. The team will play in Rochester on October 3rd and 9th before returning to Cleveland to open hockey season at Quicken Loans Arena on Saturday, October 10th. The first 5,000 fans in attendance at the home opener will receive a free Monsters magnetic schedule, courtesy of Sugardale.
