Cleveland Monsters News Release

CLEVELAND - The AHL's defending Calder Cup Champions, the Cleveland Monsters, proudly powered by Constellation, were defeated by the Rockford IceHogs on Wednesday at The Q by a final score of 1-0. With the loss, the Monsters fell to 17-15-1-3 overall this season and with a .528 points percentage, remain alone in fourth place in the AHL's Central Division standings.

The IceHogs grabbed a 1-0 lead at 3:00 of the opening period when an even-strength breakaway led to Evan Mosey's third tally of the season, a goal that featured assists from Jake Dowell and Cameron Schilling and proved to be the game's lone scoring play. Rockford goaltender Jeff Glass posted a 26-save shutout on Saturday in his first appearance as an IceHog, while Monsters net-minder Anton Forsberg stopped 33 pucks in defeat to fall to 12-7-2 between the pipes for Cleveland this year.

Next up for the Monsters, it's a Friday rematch vs. the IceHogs with full coverage, live from The Q, underway at 7:00 pm on Fox Sports Ohio, 99X and the Monsters Hockey Network.
