WEEK IN REVIEW The Monarchs played three games against the Reading Royals this past week and won all three games, sweeping their North Division rivals by a total score of 10-5.

Manchester and Reading squared-off Wednesday morning on Education Day from the Jungle, where the Monarchs won 4-1 in front of over 5,600 children from New England. Manchester received four-straight goals by Kevin Morris, Justin Agosta, Teddy Doherty and Cory Ward before allowing a late second period tally to Reading. Sam Brittain took the win in net for the Monarchs, and the game saw the return of former Monarchs defenseman, Michael Boivin, to the SNHU Arena.

The two teams took to the ice again Friday night, and the Monarchs were 2-1 victors. Reading took the advantage early in the second period, but goals by Agosta and Daniel Ciampini gave the Monarchs the lead heading into the third period. Brittain stood tall in the final frame to earn the win, making 26 saves for the Monarchs.

In the rubber-game of the series, the Monarchs completed the sweep with a 4-3 overtime win. Reading took a lead into the second period, but three-straight goals by Quentin Shore, Joey Diamond and newcomer, Jordan LaVallee-Smotherman, put the Monarchs in the driver's seat. Reading would answer with two goals of their own, including an empty-net tally with 1:09 left in the game, but an overtime-winner by Daniel Doremus sent Monarchs fans home happy on Mullets in Movember.

WHERE WE STAND The Monarchs (10-4-0-1) enter the week tied for 1st in the North Division with the Adirondack Thunder, as both teams have earned 21 points, 15 games into the season. Despite having the same amount of points, the Monarchs hold the tie-breaker with the Admirals by posting one more win than their rivals.

LEADING THE WAY Joey Diamond leads the Monarchs into the week with 15 points (7g, 8a) after recording three points (1g, 2a) in the series with Reading. Diamond is followed closely by Ciampini (6g, 8a) and Agosta (4g, 10a) with 14 points each.

ESTERO TO MANCHESTER The Florida Everblades will make their first trip to Manchester in the history of their franchise, and bring with them the best record in the Eastern Conference. The Everblades (10-0-1-2) are the only team in the ECHL without a loss in regulation and have given up the fewest goals (28) in the league. The high-flying Everblades are led in scoring by Matt Berry who has posted 16 points on six goals and 10 assists in the 13 games.

WELCOME (BACK) TO THE JUNGLE The Everblades will come to town with some familiar faces to Monarchs Country, as Matt MacKenzie and Kevin Raine will make their returns to Manchester during the two-game series.

MacKenzie, who was voted captain of the Monarchs after David Kolomatis signed with the Toronto Marlies (AHL), played 53 games for the Monarchs last season recording 20 points on two goals and 18 assists while accumulating 102 penalty minutes and a +21 rating.

Raine returns to Manchester for the first time since helping the Monarchs win the 2015 Calder Cup, the first title in franchise history. With the Monarchs, Raine played in 53 games, and spent the 2015-16 campaign with the Ontario Reign (AHL).

HIT THE ROAD, JACK The Monarchs will visit the Elmira Jackals for the first time this season, and catch their North Division rivals in a good spot, as Elmira has posted a 2-9-2-0 record, going a paltry 1-5-0-0 at home. The Jackals are led in scoring by Daultan Leveille, who has accumulated eight points on three goals and five assists in 12 games this season.

TICKETS The Monarchs return to SNHU Arena on Wednesday, Nov. 23 (7 p.m.) when they host the Florida Everblades for the first time in franchise history.
