Monarchs Sign Kroll To Tryout

MANCHESTER, NH - The Manchester Monarchs, the primary affiliate of the Los Angeles Kings, have signed defenseman Johann Kroll to a professional tryout agreement, Monarchs Director of Hockey Operations Hubie McDonough announced today.

Kroll, 25, has played in 26 games with the ECHL's South Carolina Stingrays this season and recorded eight points (1-78) and 14 penalty minutes. The 6-foot-2, 200-pound native of Plymouth, Minnesota also appeared in two games with the AHL's Grand Rapids Griffins this season. Kroll has collected three assists in 34 AHL games with the Griffins, Hershey Bears, Syracuse Crunch and Rochester Americans in the past two seasons. He spent a majority of his rookie season, 2008-09, with the Stingrays where he registered 22 points (1-2122) and 31 penalty minutes.

A 2008 graduate of Ohio State University, Kroll finished his college career with 27 points (5-2227) and 177 penalty minutes in 153 games from 2004-08.

The Monarchs return to the Verizon Wireless Arena for a 3:00 p.m. contest with the Hartford Wolf Pack. The first 2,000 fans will receive a limited edition Manchester Goodfellas poster and the ZOOperstars will perform throughout the game and at intermission.
