MANCHESTER, NH - The Manchester Monarchs, the primary affiliate of the Los Angeles Kings, have released center Tyler Mosienko from his professional tryout agreement, Monarchs Director of Hockey Operations Hubie McDonough announced today. In addition, defenseman Viatcheslav Voynov returns to the Monarchs lineup following his bronze medal victory with Team Russia at the World Junior Championships.
Mosienko, 24, appeared in nine games with the Monarchs and collected four points (1-3=4) and two penalty minutes. Prior to joining the Monarchs on December 19, Mosienko played in 21 games with the ECHL's Las Vegas Wranglers and has recorded 21 points (7-14=21) and 19 penalty minutes. His 21 points ranked second on the squad at the time of his signing with Manchester. The 5-foot-8, 175-pound native of West St. Paul, Manitoba, is in his third season with the Wranglers where he has compiled 132 points (47-85=132) and 179 penalty minutes in 156 games since 2006. Mosienko made his AHL debut with the Bridgeport Sound Tigers on March 21, 2008. He registered his first two AHL points, a goal and an assist, in his debut against the Worcester Sharks. Mosienko collected three points (2-1=3) and four penalty minutes in seven games with the Sound Tigers during the 2007-08 season.
Voynov, 18, recorded four points (1-3=4), zero penalty minutes, a plus-1 rating and 12 shots on goal in seven tournament games as Team Russia went 5-2 and earned the bronze medal for the second consecutive year at the World Junior Championships. He also represented Team Russia at the 2008 Under-18 World Championships where he earned a silver medal. The 5-foot-11, 186-pound native of Chelyabinsk, Russia, was the Kings' second round choice (32nd overall) in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft and has 12 points (4-8=12), 18 penalty minutes and a plus-4 rating in 24 games with the Monarchs.
The Monarchs host the Providence Bruins at the Verizon Wireless Arena on Wednesday, January 7 at 7:00 p.m.
