MO(RE) THAN A GAME

The Monarchs will host the annual Mullets in Movember game tonight in an effort to raise awareness about men's cancers, and funds for the American Cancer Society. The first 4,000 fans in SNHU Arena will receive a mullet wig, and the players will be wearing their mullets during warmups. Last year, the Monarchs were able to donate $7,500 after the Mullets in Movember game.

WHERE WE STAND

The Monarchs enter the final contest of their three-game series with the Royals in a tie for 1st place in the North Division with the Adirondack Thunder, as both teams come into Saturday with 19 points. The nine wins the Monarchs have posted breaks the tie with the Thunder, and puts them one win away from the Eastern Conference lead (Florida).

LEADING THE WAY

The Monarchs have a new leader in the clubhouse, as Daniel Ciampini regained the Monarchs points lead with his goal in last night's game against Reading. Ciampini is now tied with Joey Diamond and Cory Ward for the team lead in goals (6).

PROTECT THE NET

Sam Brittain has been climbing the ECHL goaltending list since being assigned to Manchester by Springfield (AHL), and currently has the fifth-best GAA (2.20) amongst active goaltenders in the league. Brittain's six victories puts him in a third-place tie across the ECHL.

SPECIAL TEAMS BATTLE

Manchester will look to take advantage of Reading's last-ranked penalty-killing unit (69.5%) in the rubber game of the three-game series. Reading has held the Monarchs in check so far the past two games, stopping 7-of-8 Monarchs power-play opportunities. On the flip side, the Monarchs' third-ranked penalty kill has stopped all seven Royals chances.

HOLD THE AVERAGES

If the Monarchs want to sweep their North Division rivals out of town, they just need to play to their averages to get the job done. The Monarchs are averaging 3.71 goals/game and are giving up 3.00 goals/game. Reading plays a part in this, as the Royals are only averaging 3.27 goals/game and are giving up 3.80 goals/game this season.

LEADING AFTER TWO

The Monarchs (8-0-0-0) are tied for the league lead with eight wins when leading after the second period. In contrast, the Royals enter tonight's game with a 1-7-0-0 record when trailing heading into the third period.
