Manchester Monarchs News Release

MANCHESTER, NH - The Monarchs Care Foundation, the charitable arm of the Manchester Monarchs, netted nearly $30,000 for three area charities during their 10th annual "At Your Service" event, held at the Radisson Hotel Manchester Downtown on Monday, March 14. The money raised from the event will be donated to Child Health Services, Boys & Girls Club of Manchester and the Monarchs Care Foundation's Investing In Our Youth Grant Program. The Monarchs "At Your Service" event has raised upwards of half a million dollars for local charities over the last 10 years.

"Our fans never cease to amaze me in terms of their generosity to not only our team but our community efforts," remarked Kimberly Mueller, the Monarchs Vice President of Public Affairs. "The thoughtful donations from our team as well as local businesses allowed us to provide an assortment of items for our fans to bid on during our silent auctions while raising funds for such noble causes."

"It is truly unique and special how our fans, year after year, rally around the Monarchs organization and the causes it supports," concluded Mueller.

A night where the hockey gloves come off and the bow ties come on, "At Your Service" annually turns a normally rugged hockey team into an accomplished wait staff eager to fulfill special requests, such as singing a song, telling a joke, doing impersonations, making surprise phone calls, posing for photos and dancing - all for charitable tips.

Silent auction items at this year's event included tickets to select events at the Verizon Wireless Arena as well as autographed memorabilia from every former Monarchs player currently skating with the Los Angeles Kings, including goaltender Jonathan Bernier, center Dustin Brown and right wing Kevin Westgarth. In addition to the players' jerseys being auctioned off, pottery, gift baskets and Build-A-Bears, all created and personalized by the players, were put on the auction block. Top selling items included a Monarchs Team-Signed Plate created by You're Fired Pottery in Bedford, left wing Richard Clune's "Pretty In Pink" Build-A-Bear and a personalized "Pink In The Rink" authentic jersey.

In addition to mingling with their favorite hockey players, the fans attending this year's event were also treated to a first-class dinner and a night of dancing.

The Monarchs return to action on Friday, March 25 with a 7:30 p.m. face-off against the Norfolk Admirals at the Scope Arena. Catch all of the play-by-play action of Monarchs hockey with Ken Cail on the Monarchs Radio Network WGAM 900/1250 AM and at www.manchestermonarchs.com.
