Monarchs Announce Roster Moves

MANCHESTER, N.H. - Manchester Monarchs Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations, Rich Seeley, announced today that Daniel Doremus has been returned on loan by the Syracuse Crunch (AHL) and Rihards Bukarts has been assigned to the Monarchs by the Springfield Thunderbirds (AHL).

The Monarchs are the ECHL affiliate of the National Hockey League's Los Angeles Kings and the American Hockey League's Ontario Reign.

Doremus, 25, returns from the Crunch after being loaned Mar. 16. While in Syracuse, Doremus played one game without recording a point. With the Monarchs, Doremus has scored 41 points on eight goals and 33 assists in 50 games.

The 6-foot, 201-pound native of Aspen Colo., has played 26 career AHL games with the Worcester Sharks, San Jose Barracuda and Crunch, scoring three points on one goal and two assists. Doremus played four seasons at the University of Denver where he scored 90 points on 36 goals and 54 assists in 158 games.

Bukarts, 21, returns to Manchester after being recalled by the Thunderbirds on Feb. 28. During his most recent recall, Bukarts played three games in Springfield, recording an assist. In 28 games with the Monarchs Bukarts has scored 23 points on 15 goals and eight assists.

The 5-foot-9, 185-pound native of Jurmala, Latvia spent the last three seasons in the WHL with the Brandon Wheat Kings and Portland Winterhawks where he played 192 games and scored 190 points on 92 goals and 98 assists.
