Monarchs Announce Roster Moves

MANCHESTER, N.H. - Manchester Monarchs Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations, Rich Seeley, announced today that Eric Robinson has been assigned to the Monarchs by the Springfield Thunderbirds (AHL), and the team has signed Wade Murphy to an Amateur Tryout Agreement.

The Monarchs are the ECHL affiliate of the National Hockey League's Los Angeles Kings and the American Hockey League's Ontario Reign.

Robinson, 26, comes to the Monarchs after playing 30 games this season with the Thunderbirds where he scored six points on one goal and five assists. The right-shot forward played three games for the Cincinnati Cyclones (ECHL) and one game for the Milwaukee Admirals (AHL) this season, where he recorded one goal and one assist between the two clubs.

The 6-foot-2, 201-pound native of Foxboro, Mass., played collegiately at Dartmouth College (NCAA), where he scored 79 points on 35 goals and 44 assists. After leaving Dartmouth, Robinson signed with the Admirals, and has scored 12 points on five goals and seven assists in 46 career AHL games.

Murphy, 23, signs with the Monarchs after playing 31 games this season for Arizona State University, where he scored 20 points on nine goals and 11 assists, while earning 30 penalty minutes.

The 5-foot-11, 190-pound native of Victoria, British Columbia, began his collegiate career at the University of North Dakota where he played 35 games over the course of two seasons. Murphy was drafted by the Nashville Predators in the seventh round (185th overall) of the 2013 NHL Entry Draft.

Robinson, Murphy and the Monarchs are in action Friday, Feb. 24 (7 p.m.), when they host the Brampton Beast for the first time this season in a critical North Division matchup.
