Monarchs Announce Roster Moves

MANCHESTER, NH - The Manchester Monarchs, primary affiliate of the Los Angeles Kings, have recalled right wing J.D. Watt from the ECHL's Ontario Reign and have signed defenseman Joe Charlebois to a professional tryout agreement, Monarchs Director of Hockey Operations Hubie McDonough announced today.

Watt, 24, was most recently recalled to the Monarchs on Tuesday, December 13 and played in two games for Manchester registering zero points and four penalty minutes. Watt's debut in a Monarchs uniform on Wednesday, December 14, marked his 150th AHL game. In total, the right wing has appeared in 151 AHL games with four different teams: the Quad City Flames, Abbotsford Heat, San Antonio Rampage and the Monarchs. The right wing has 21 points (10-1121) and 503 penalty minutes in those 151 AHL games.

Watt has appeared in 22 games for the Reign this season recording seven points (1-67) and 66 penalty minutes.

The Cremona, Alberta native played in 27 games while registering four points (1-34), 74 penalty minutes and an AHL career-best plus-7 ratio with the Heat during the 2010-11 season. Watt also appeared in 10 games for the Rampage during the 2010-11 season recording two points (1-12) and 13 penalty minutes.

The 6-foot-2, 196-pound right wing tallied an AHL career-high eight goals and 267 penalty minutes while playing in 70 games for the Heat for the 2009-10 season. In those 70 games, Watt tallied 13 points (8-513).

Charlebois, 25, has appeared in 28 games for the ECHL's Kalamazoo Wings this season where he has tallied six points (0-66) and 21 penalty minutes. Last season, Charlebois, split the season between the ECHL's Toledo Walleye and the Wings. The Potsdam, New York native collected one point (1-01) and 28 penalty minutes in 18 games with the Walleye and 16 points (0-1616) and 48 penalty minutes in 46 games with the Wings.

Charlebois has appeared in 15 career AHL games for the Rockford IceHogs spanning parts of two seasons (2008-10). The 6-foot-2, 210-pound defenseman competed in 127 games with the University of New Hampshire Wildcats over four seasons (2004-09) and recorded 27 points (3-2427) and 161 penalty minutes.
