MANCHESTER, N.H. - Manchester Monarchs Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations, Rich Seeley, announced today that Matt Leitner has been loaned to the Springfield Thunderbirds (AHL).

The Monarchs are the ECHL affiliate of the National Hockey League's Los Angeles Kings and the American Hockey League's Ontario Reign.

Leitner, 26, heads to Springfield for the second time this season, his first since a Nov. 11 call-up. With the Monarchs, Leitner has scored 53 points on 14 goals and 39 assists in 51 games, and leaves Manchester as the team's leading scorer.

In his career, Leitner has played 22 career AHL games between the Ontario reign, Milwaukee Admirals and Thunderbirds, recording six assists.

The Monarchs return to SNHU Arena on Saturday, Mar. 18 (6 p.m.), when they finish their two-games series with the ECHL affiliate of the Boston Bruins, the Atlanta Gladiators, at SNHU Arena on Superhero Night. To purchase tickets, click HERE.
