Molina Placed on DL, OF Jared Mitchell Joins Barons

The Birmingham Barons and Chicago White Sox have announced that RHP Nestor Molina has been placed on the disabled list retroactive to April 17th. Taking Molina's spot on the Barons Roster will be OF Jared Mitchell who has been transferred from Class AAA Charlotte. Roster at 25.
Mitchell, the White Sox organization's No. 9 Prospect according to Baseball America, returns to Birmingham after spending the majority of the 2012 season with the Barons hitting .240 (80-for-334) with 10 home runs, 13 doubles, 12 triples and 20 stolen bases. The former LSU standout in both football and baseball began the 2013 season with the Charlotte Knights hitting .132 (7-for-53) with seven runs scored and three RBI.
Molina made three starts with the Barons this season, going 0-1 with a 7.30 ERA (10 ER/12.1 IP). He was removed from his last start against the Chattanooga Lookouts on 4/15 after 3.2 IP with an undisclosed injury.
