October 6, 2012 - Major League Soccer (MLS) News Release
NEW YORK (October 6, 2012) -The Houston Dynamo picked up one point with a tie against the Montreal Impact today and in so doing have eliminated Montreal from playoff contention.
While the 2012 expansion Impact have won 10 of their 16 home games so far this season, the club's inability to find success on the road hindered an ascent in the standings. Five teams are still in the running for the four remaining Eastern Conference playoff spots while two teams are still playing for one remaining Western Conference playoff berth.
The below teams have already secured a place in the 2012 MLS Cup Playoffs:
Western Conference
San Jose Earthquakes
Real Salt Lake
LA Galaxy
Seattle Sounders FC
Eastern Conference
Sporting Kansas City
