Milwaukee Wave News Release

MKE WAVE SINKS THE AMBUSH TO KEEP THEIR 8 GAME WINNING STREAK ALIVE.

Next Home Game: Sunday, December 31 st, 2017, 5:05pm at UW-Milwaukee Panther Arena.

Your Six-Time Champion Milwaukee Wave adds a third straight victory over the St. Louis Ambush Saturday night at UW-Milwaukee Panther Arena making them 8-0 for the season thus far. Final score Milwaukee Wave 10, St. Louis Ambush 4.

"Having home field advantage and playing in front of your fans with the energy they bring really translates to the way we play on the field." Commented Head Coach Guiliano Oliviero. "It's just a matter of time for St. Louis to get their first win. We match up well with them and we know they're not an easy opponent."

The last game against the Ambush ended with a final score of 4-3 in overtime. Tonight the Wave clinched the lead early in game, which showed a different team since last Friday.

"I think once we got the lead we were very comfortable keeping the ball and making the other team chase the it around. We did that really well tonight." Said Midfielder Marcio Leite, who put one in the back of the net. "I think our intensity really helped and picked it up for our game plan."

Early in the second quarter Milwaukee Wave goalkeeper Josh Lemos collided with St. Louis Ambush player Corey Adamson and was taken out for the rest of the game. Goalkeeper Coach Rafael Dias stepped up to keep the Ambush to four goals for the entire game.

"We have all the confidence in the world in Rafael. I thought he came in and did fantastic with some great saves and distribution." Said Oliviero. "He was mentally and physically prepared to go in and that's what you want in a situation like that. He's such a great professional we're lucky to have him on the team."

The Milwaukee Wave keeps their undefeated streak alive as they head into preparation for next week's game against the Kanas City Comets with the secret of their success being hard work and excellent coaching.

"I think Guiliano has done a tremendous job with this team. From the players to the way were playing, I think, has his identity. The team really buys into that. We have a system and know exactly what to do at all times." Said Leite. "We have the confidence from last year and we just keep getting better."

The next home game will be on Sunday, December. 31st at 5:05 p.m. at UW-Milwaukee Panther Arena.
