June 19, 2016 - Texas League (TL1)
San Antonio Missions News Release

MIDLAND--The Missions suffered their sixth shutout of the season in the rain-shortened series opener at Security Bank Ballpark on Wednesday night.

Missions starter Dinelson Lamet struggled in his second Double-A start. Lamet made 96 pitches in just 4.2 innings, allowing nine hits and all five runs, while walking three and hitting a batter.

San Antonio left a runner at third base in the second inning and failed to score in the fourth after Jose Rondon led off with a double and Nick Torres reached on an infield hit.

The Missions have scored 16 runs in seven games since an 11-2 win over Frisco last Wednesday at home.

The club's 45th loss of the year matches the team mark for the most first-half losses since the Texas League went to a split-season format in 1977.

NOTES: First-baseman Mike Olt (heel) was placed on the disabled list. No further move was made

THURSDAY: Missions RH Aaron Northcraft (0-0, 1.50) at Midland RH James Naile (AA-debut) 7:00 PM
