Miracles End Season in Game 4 to Rainmen

(Moncton, NB) The Moncton Miracles lost in Game 4 of the NBL Canada Atlantic Division semi-finals to the Halifax Rainmen with a final score of 112-83 in front of 1,192 fans. The Rainmen take the series 3-1 over the Miracles.

Both teams would start off struggling to put the ball in the net. While the visiting would spread the scoring around, Moncton was lead by Trayvon Lathan with 11 points and Tyler Murray adding in with 4 to finish the first quarter in a 23-15 hole.

The Rainmen would start the second quarter on a 9-0 run, before Troy Brewer was able to knock down 3 to make it 32-18. The Miracles would start making some outside shots late in the quarter to get them back in the game. Brooks nailed 5 shots beyond the arc alone in the quarter to shorten the Halifax lead to 49-42 at the half.

Halifax would come out strong in the third quarter blowing open the gap leading by as much as 21 points. The Miracles squad would struggle at the free throw line shooting a mere 35% (7/20) to the Rainmen's 89% (17/19). Halifax would lead 81-62 heading into the final twelve minutes of play.

The Rainmen would take the game in the fourth quarter outscoring the Miracles 31 to 19. Halifax would dominate in the paint with 68 points to Moncton's 30,

Shawn Vanzant led the way for the Miracles with 23 points. Trayvon Lathan added in with 21 points and Daquan Brooks with 20. Miracles Zack Atkinson was sidelined with an injury.

Kevin Young dominated for the Rainmen with 23 points. Liam McMorrow had a double double with 14 points and 17 rebounds and Tyrone Watson added in with 14.
