Miners Announce 2016 Schedule

Marion, Ill. (October 28, 2015) - The Southern Illinois Miners announce that their schedule for the 2016 season has been finalized, with a full slate of 96 Frontier League games beginning on Friday, May 13th.
For the first time since 2013, the Miners will open the season at home. A six-game homestand kicks off the 10th season of Miners baseball in Marion, as Southern Illinois will host the defending Frontier League champion Traverse City Beach Bums for a three-game set beginning on Friday, May 13th. After an off day the following Monday, the Miners entertain Gateway for a mid-week series from May 17th-19th.
With 48 home games on tap for 2016, there are plenty of great opportunities for fans to come on out and support the team. Included in the schedule are a whopping nine weekend series at Rent One Park, with five of the team's first seven weekend series overall being played at home. The Miners will also host two series each against local rivals Gateway, River City and Evansville as they celebrate their 10th anniversary with a bang!

All weekday games (Tuesday-Friday) will start at 7:05 p.m., with all Saturday contests beginning at 6:05 p.m. and Sunday games remaining with a first-pitch time of 5:05 p.m. All game times are subject to change. Fans can listen to all Miners games, home and away, throughout the season with the "Voice of the Miners," Jason Guerette, on the Miners Radio Network, including the flagship station, US 97 (WHET-FM 97.7).
