Mill Rats Players Raising Money for Fort McMurray Relief Fund

(Saint John, NB): The Saint John Mill Rats players are raising money for the Fort McMurray Relief Fund and hoping to pack the Station for their home playoff games on May 20, 21, and 24.
"They came to me and said they wanted to help pack Harbour Station for our playoff games. We talked about ways to do it and good causes to support, and they came up with this idea," said Mill Rats President Ian McCarthy.
With every package sold, 20% of the proceeds will be donated to the Fort McMurray Relief Fund and 20% will be paid to the player who brought you the opportunity to help support them.
"The guys are very excited about being in the Division Championship series and they want our arena full of fans to cheer them on and lift them to victory," added McCarthy. "We are happy to reward them and feel supporting the disaster relief fund for Fort McMurry is the right thing to do."
"We will be announcing the total dollars raised for the fund and the companies that supported this initiative at a game, unless they chose to remain anonymous and that's fine too."

Players will be visiting local businesses making their pitch over the next week and a half, when they aren't practicing. If you would like to buy a package, please email hoops@millratsbasketball.ca or call 506-799-3699 and we will send a player over to help you out.
