Mike Gonzales activated from 7-day disabled list

Cedar Rapids, IA - The Cedar Rapids Kernels and Minnesota Twins announce that INF Mike Gonzales has been activated from the 7-day disabled list. Brad Steil, Director of Minor League Operations for the Twins, announced the move.
Gonzales was placed on the DL back on August 4th with right wrist tendonitis. He joined the Kernels on July 20th and is batting .220 with a home run and four RBI in 11 games for the Kernels. The Twins selected him in the ninth round of the 2008 First Year Player Draft out of Diablo Valley College and he spent last season at Fort Myers where he hit .244 with six HR and 27 RBI in 72 games.
Gonzales is active and available for tonight's 6:35 pm game with Beloit. With today's transaction, the Kernels roster is at the MWL maximum of 25, with two players currently on the disabled list.
The Kernels wrap up a three game home stand tonight at 6:35 pm against the Beloit Snappers. They begin a seven game road trip on Saturday, August 17th with games at Peoria and Quad Cities before returning home to Perfect Game Field at Veterans Memorial Stadium on Saturday, August 24th.
