Memphis Xplorers News Release
Southaven, MS-The Memphis Xplorers of the af2 have been assigned OL/DL Kevin Eli by the league. Eli (6-2, 270) attended the University of Maryland, where he earned All-ACC honors.
As a senior, Eli compiled ten solo tackles and 15 assisted tackles. He had two sacks and one pass breakup, along with six QBHs. During his junior season, he was third on the team and ninth in the conference in sacks with 5.5. He was voted the most improved defensive player for the Terrapins that season as well.
"Kevin Eli is a big time performer," said Xplorers Head Coach Danton Barto. "He is one of the top remaining pass rushers left that was not drafted. We are confident that he can bring his All-ACC playing ability to this team."
The Xplorers will host the Birmingham Steeldogs this Saturday at the DeSoto Civic Center. Single game tickets start as low as $7 and can be purchased by calling 662-342-1755, visiting the DeSoto Civic Center box office, or by logging onto www.TicketMaster today.
