Media Release- Screaming Eagles Players to Miss Game Action Due To

SYDNEY- The Cape Breton Screaming Eagles will be without the services of multiple players on the club's roster in upcoming games due to injuries and suspensions.

Screaming Eagles forward Drake Batherson suffered a fractured in his hand during Sunday's game against the Moncton Wildcats. The injury occurred after a slash from Moncton forward Dylan Seitz, who was suspended three games for the incident. Batherson is expected to return to action by mid-December. The 19 year old Batherson, a fourth round 2017 draft pick of the Ottawa Senators, currently leads the QMJHL in scoring with 37 points in 22 games.

Another forward, Justin Lazure, will miss Wednesday's game against Saint John Sea Dogs. The 18 year old Lazure was given an automatic one game suspension for partaking in a second fight during the same stoppage. (The other player involved, Moncton's Liam Dunda, also receives an automatic one game suspension.) Lazure has one goal and nine penalty minutes through 17 games in his rookie QMJHL season.

Defenseman Ross MacDougall, who did not play in Sunday's game in Moncton, currently has a lower body injury. A timeline for his return will be determined after additional medical tests. This season the overage defenseman has 14 points through 21 games.

18 year old defenseman Sacha Roy has been suspended four games for an incident at the conclusion of the game in Moncton. This season Roy has four points in 20 games.

Cape Breton has recalled defenseman Ian Smallwood.from South Shore Lumberjacks of the Maritime (Jr. A) Hockey League. The 18 year old Smallwood was recently acquired from the Quebec Remparts and has appeared in one game with the Screaming Eagles this season. In 14 games with South Shore, Smallwood has 14 points.

The Screaming Eagles next see action Wednesday night against the Saint John Sea Dogs.
