Augusta, GA - The Augusta GreenJackets (35-24, 71-58) and Greenville Drive (37-32, 67-62) finished up their 3-game series Wednesday evening from Lake Olmstead Stadium.

GreenJackets starter Jake McCasland was called upon to get the GreenJackets a series win, and he was on point from the start. Through seven innings he allowed just one run and one hit; The kind of performance Augusta has needed.

The offense also stepped up in a huge way. In the second inning Junior Arias knocked out his 10th home run and John Polonius doubled home Seth Harrison to put the GreenJackets ahead 3-0. Up 3-1 in the 4th inning, Jalen Miller doubled, as did Bryan Reynolds, knocking in Miller. The score rose to 7-1 after six innings of play.

Ryan Halstead and Ryan Koziol each pitched clean innings and the GreenJackets closed out Greenville 7-1 to take the series.

The GreenJackets head on the road to take on the Rome Braves in a pivotal matchup starting Friday night.

The scheduled pitching matchup is Michael Connolly (11-5, 2.66) for Augusta vs Kolby Allard (3-3, 3.83).
